QA Graphics has designed a new tool to protect Niagara AX images from being counterfeited, copied, edited or resold.
In today’s world, privacy and security of intellectual property seems to be nonexistent. Companies are spending thousands, if not millions trying to protect material that they already own. As a result to this demand, QA Graphics has designed a new tool that provides a service to protect any images they purchase from ever being reused by anyone else.
Previously, QA Graphics would create custom high-end graphics and custom system graphics for companies without the protection of those images being reused and distributed by others. The Image Protection Tool now allows us to offer the ability to purchase a singleimage, a group, or package option with the reassurance that no one else can use them. If companies already have an image or images created, QA Graphics can then provide the protection for images that are not created from us as well.
“With the amount of time our designers and developers spend on creating these custom graphics, it is not only beneficial for their hard work to be protected, but also for our clients’ intellectual property,” said Dan McCarty, President of QA Graphics. “We have had high demand for this from our clients and we are now happy to be able to provide them with this additional service.”
The system works with Niagara AX platforms and is also compatible with ProBuilder 3.5, 3.6, 3.7, 3.8, and Facility Explorer 4.0, 4.1, 5.0, 5.1. It has the ability to set an expiration usage date for each image, and will secure any file type (ie. .JAR, .JPG, .PNG, .MOV, etc.) to a specific JACE or Host ID. QA Graphics also has the ability to create .JAR files. The tool gives us the ability to quickly generate image modules that will load on a Niagara AX system. The modules themselves use multiple layers of technology to protect the images. Expiration dates will be protected just like the Host ID. If any tampering is detected, the module will still work, but the image loader will refuse to decrypt the images. The tool enforces Niagara’s file type and naming specifications to try to prevent the creation of .JAR files that won’t load on a JACE.
